My First Visit

From the moment you first call or visit Columbus Family Dental Care, we will make every effort to treat you and your family in such a friendly manner, you may start to think of dental care as a uniquely pleasant experience. Our staff is dedicated to making you feel comfortable and relaxed. They enjoy providing you with exceptional service.

We are committed to building lasting friendships with our patients, founded on mutual trust and open communication. It is important from the start that we have your active involvement in all phases of your dental care. We want to listen to you and respond to any of your questions or concerns. At Columbus Family Dental Care, we place the most emphasis on working together as a team for the preservation of your dental health. As a new patient in our office, we want to thank you for the confidence you have placed in us.

On your first visit, Dr. Dixon will spend as much time as necessary with you so that you can both learn about each other. You will start your first visit in our consultation room. This is a quiet and relaxing place where we will go over your health history by following the questions on our New Patient Form (PDF), which you can fill out before your first visit if you like. This consultation room discussion is your first opportunity to tell us what you have in mind, although it will certainly not be your last. Feel free to ask any questions at any time. And, rest assured that your personal information is always kept confidential. We follow all HIPPA privacy regulations as is required by law.

Next, we'll take you on a brief tour of the office and introduce you to the rest of our staff. Then, you'll meet one of our dental assistants who will take any necessary photographs or x-rays and review your health history again. Dr. Dixon will then give you a thorough dental examination, and escort you back to the consultation room to discuss his findings and to create a customized treatment plan for you. Often you will have choices to make regarding the types of dentistry you think would work best according to your time, budget, and personal desires. We promise to listen carefully to your concerns and goals, and to be open to different treatment options. Only through open communication can a strong doctor-patient relationship be established and the best dental care be provided. Once again, our goal – a healthy, beautiful smile that makes you look and feel great.
